The Lucchese family was founded in 2011 in Liberty City by the formidable duo of Don Sole Lucchese and Boss Mane Lucchese. Starting off as a relatively small crime syndicate, the family quickly grew into one of the most powerful and influential criminal organizations in the entire city. A major turning point came in 2014 when the ambitious soldier Joey Stark joined their ranks. Proving himself to be a ruthlessly effective and cunning operator, Stark rapidly rose through the family's ranks, advancing from a simple soldier to Caporegime, then Consigliere, and finally Street Boss by 2016 - at which point he was officially made a made man and full member of the Lucchese family.

With the strategically brilliant Stark now firmly entrenched in the Lucchese hierarchy, the family's business operations expanded exponentially. Sole and Mane, guided by Stark's shrewd decision-making and organizational prowess, built up an unparalleled criminal enterprise that encompassed everything from extortion and money laundering to narcotics trafficking and illegal gambling. By 2018, the Lucchese family had become the largest and most formidable crime syndicate in the entire city, controlling a vast network of legitimate businesses and illegal rackets that generated staggering profits. That year, the aging Don Sole Lucchese finally retired, leaving Mane Lucchese as the family's sole boss. Mane continued to lead the Luccheses to new heights of power and influence until his own retirement in 2020, at which point the mantle of leadership passed to the cunning and ruthless Joey Stark. Under Stark's stewardship, the Lucchese family has only continued to grow, solidifying its status as the preeminent criminal organization in Liberty City.
